Publishing Ethics



  • To keep Advanced Textile Tehnology academic and scientific, the ethical standards of conduct that editors, the editorial board, authors, reviewers and publishers involved in the publication must follow are stated as follows:

    Originality: Only original works are published on the Journal. Simultaneous submissions, repeated submissions of identical content (including submissions by choosing different types) and plagiarism are strictly prohibited. Once the above situation is found, the author’s work will be rejected, the author will be blacklisted, the affiliated institution will be notified to deal with it seriously, and relevant professional journals will be notified. The author shall be responsible for the submission if it involves confidential matters.

    Academic normative: As stipulated by the journal, research papers shall be innovative; have scientific foundation, clear argument and rigorous reasoning; the wording shall be accurate and concise and data reliable; illustrations shall be of high resolution and readability; the content shall be adequate and complete; national legal units of measurement, digital usage, punctuation and other standards shall be complied with.

    Correct references: As for references to others viewpoint, data, charts, and other materials, the author should indicate the source references in sequence, and list the references at the end of the article. Authors shall provide relevant references to the manuscript when necessary.

    Foundation: Papers that have been funded by a research grant shall include the official name and number of the source of the grant in the footer of the first page of the manuscript. The funded project shall be relevant to the content of the paper.

    Human and animal experiments: When a paper involves research on human and animals, the author should ensure its compliance with national, local, and institutional ethical requirements.

    Conflict of interest statement: All authors should disclose in their manuscript all potential conflicts of interest.

    Authorship: Authorship shall be limited to those who have directly participated in the research work or have an important guiding role (such as graduate tutors). Persons who have nothing to do with the paper are strictly forbidden to be listed as co-authors. In principle, the authors are ranked in order of contribution, as mutually agreed upon by the authors of the manuscript and determined at the time of submission. After the submission of the manuscript, the authors and the affiliated institution can not be changed in general; if necessary, the primary person in charge of the paper (the first author and the corresponding author) shall submit a written application for change with specific reasons and signatures signed by all authors (including the changed ones) to the editorial department.

    Revision and withdrawal requirements: Before printing, the author reserves the right to revise the accepted manuscript. When the author discovers an error or inaccuracy in the manuscript, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the editorial departmentIf the manuscript needs to be revised after review, it shall be returned to the editorial department within 2 months. Or else, it is necessary to explain the situation to the editorial department in time. If it is not returned within 6 months, it will be automatically withdrawn. If errors in research results, improper citations or permissions, significant textual errors, etc. are found after the publication of the paper, the author should submit a correction application in a prompt manner to the editorial department. The editorial department shall publish the results of correction in a timely manner, and has the right to retract the paper in the case of serious errors.

    Copyright transfer agreement: The author owns the copyright of the paper, and bears the responsibility for it. All contents of the Journal are published in the CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 license (Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivatives 4.0 International). After publication, the papers will be publicly and permanently free to read, download, copy, print, search, or link to the full text. To ensure the authors right of authorship and intellectual property rights, the author should sign Letter of Copyright Authorization. Upon publication of a paper, the author agrees to automatically assign to the editorial department the copyright to the paper, including the right to publish electronically, in multimedia, on the web, and in other forms. If the author does not allow the journal to make textual and content deletions to the manuscript, or does not agree to the reprinting, excerpting, or inclusion of the paper, please state so at the time of submission. Authors have the right to share and use their papers according to the CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.

    Peer review agreement: After a manuscript passes the initial review, it will be sent to at least two peer reviewers for a double-blind peer review of the innovation and application value of the manuscript. Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal are deemed to voluntarily comply with the requirement of double-blind peer review by peer experts. Authors may recommend specific peer experts to review their submissions and may also request to avoid reviewing from a certain peer expert or certain peer experts when submitting their manuscripts. The editorial department shall recuse itself from reviewers with potential conflicts of interest, and from specific reviewers as reasonably requested by the author. Peer-review experts shall take the initiative to recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts in cases of conflicts of interest. They are expected to objectively, fairly, and promptly review the manuscripts, identify any potential academic misconduct, and promptly inform the editorial department if they are beyond their professional competence or unable to complete the review within the specified time. On the premise that there is no conflict of interest with the manuscript, the editorial department will only accept manuscripts for which the review results are sufficiently confirmed, to ensure the objectivity and fairness of the review process.

    Confidentiality agreement: The editorial department has the right and obligation to keep the names of peer reviewers and authors manuscripts strictly confidential. Authors may appeal to the editorial department about the results of peer review, but they are not allowed to obtain any personal information about the peer-review experts in any way. They are also required to keep all communication content with the Journal confidential. Authors and peer review experts are not allowed to disclose or use the research content of unpublished manuscripts without authorization.

    Academic malpractice handling: The editorial department has the responsibility to safeguard academic ethics, detect, and terminate academic misconduct, and should conduct academic misconduct detection on manuscripts after the author submits a manuscript. Manuscripts with a text similarity exceeding 10% will be rejected. If academic misconduct is discovered in a formally published paper, the editorial department should notify the author of the paper in writing, retract the paper, and reserve the right to claim compensation. The author has the right to explain and defend before the editorial department makes the final decision, and has the right to apply for re-review.

    Maintaining fairness: The editorial department should treat all manuscripts impartially, deciding on acceptance solely based on the quality of the articles,  regardless of factors such as gender, race, religion and nationality of the authors, and treat readers, authors, reviewers and editorial members fairly and objectively.

    Supervision of academic ethics: All members of the editorial board and editorial staff have the right and obligation to oversee the academic ethics of the Journal and ensure that the manuscript of the Journal is non-commercial and non-profit, the arguments are true and reliable, the arguments are highly scientific, and the manuscript complies with other consistently high standards and strict requirements of academic ethics.

    Maintaining the scientificity of the Journal: Before the manuscript is printed, the editorial department needs to edit and process the accepted manuscript, and communicate with the author on the normative issues in the manuscript if necessary. When major problems of published papers are found, they will be unanimously discussed by all members of the editorial board, all editorial staff and review experts, and a statement of correction, clarification, revocation and apology will be issued when necessary according to the consensus reached by relevant personnel.

    Revision note: This statement is based on the consistent requirements of Journal of Silk regarding the ethical conduct of editors, editorial board members, authors, reviewers, and publishers. It has been revised with reference to the ethical guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the publicly available  publication ethics of Elsevier and Springer.
