Agglomeration behavior of ZnO nanoparticles in polyester fiber

纳米ZnO颗粒在聚酯纤维中的团聚行为

Abstract: In order to study the agglomeration behavior of nanoparticles in fibers, a method to analyze the agglomeration behavior of nanoparticles in polyester fibers by X-ray three-dimensional microscopy (CT) was proposed. ZnO/PET composite fibers were prepared with the PET masterbatch containing nano-ZnO and the PET blank chips as raw materials by adopting the method of melt spinning after the twin-screw extruder was used for blending. In addition, the PET masterbatch containing nano-ZnO was dissolved with hexafluoroisopropanol, and the obtained ZnO was imaged by scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope, and it was found that the size of ZnO particles was mainly below 300 nm. Therefore, the particles larger than 300 nm obtained in CT imaging of ZnO/PET composite fibers can be considered to be caused by the agglomeration of ZnO. Using the data obtained by CT, a frequency histogram of the size of ZnO particles larger than 300 nm was plotted, and the results showed that the agglomeration of ZnO particles in the fibers intensified with the increase of ZnO particle addition.

摘要: 为了研究纳米颗粒在纤维中的团聚行为,提出了利用X射线三维显微镜(CT)分析纳米颗粒在聚酯纤维中团聚行为的方法。以含纳米ZnO的PET母粒和PET空白切片为原料,利用双螺杆挤出机进行共混,后利用熔融纺丝方法制备得到ZnO/PET复合纤维。另外用六氟异丙醇将含纳米ZnO的PET母粒溶解,并采用扫描电子显微镜、透射电子显微镜对所得的ZnO进行成像,发现ZnO颗粒的尺寸主要在300 nm以下。因此,CT对ZnO/PET复合纤维成像中得到的大于300 nm的颗粒可认为是ZnO发生团聚所致。利用CT获得的数据,绘制出大于300 nm的ZnO颗粒尺寸的频数直方图,结果表明,随着ZnO颗粒添加量的增加,纤维中ZnO颗粒的团聚情况加剧。
